// TEST DRIVE MEME_
// TEST DRIVE_ ![]() Welcome to Eluvio's Test Drive Meme! Whether you'd like to try out a character in the setting, get some samples for your application, or just mess around and have fun, this is the place to do it. If you're getting samples together, remember that you need at least four comments made by you in the thread for it to count. Pick any of the scenarios below or make up any of your own. This is space! There are infinite worlds and possibilities. If you'd like to thread out hijacking a ship, do it! If you'd like to get stuck on a remote planet with only one other person for company, do it! Take the wheel and guide your own adventure! The most important thing is to have fun! ➣ SCENARIO 001. ![]() Welcome to Oros! It's no vacation destination and you're in for an interesting ride. While the planet is big, there's not much to explore beyond the vast, stretching reaches of a boiling hot, red desert. Which means it's fun for the whole family! There are hostile aliens on the planet who aren't taking kindly to you, an alien on their planet. They're stronger than you and you're out numbered. Likely out gunned, too. But, really, good luck! You'll be coming back alive. For more information on the planet and things that may be found there, please go here and give it a read! There you can also find the missions completed in game should you need any additional prompt. Whatever you can imagine that fits with the setting itself works! [ PLEASE NOTE: Threads taking place on Oros cannot be used as game canon, as they required prior signups to participate, but the setting is provided so that you can get an idea of just one of the kinds of events that will be in game! ] ➣ SCENARIO 002. ![]() Congratulations! You've been selected to be part of the team being sent down to the planet around which the fleet is currently orbiting. Initial scans of the surface show that oxygen is in abundance, temperatures support carbon-based life-forms, and there aren't any large quantities of poisonous gases that might pose problems. Your mission is to secure a landing site, set up a camp, and locate edible flora and fauna. Stores aboard ship are running a bit low on food and it's projected to be another three weeks before the fleet reaches a station large enough to replenish supplies. Once identified, larger parties will be sent to the surface to help hunt and gather. The good news is, scans show fruits, vegetables, and animals are plentiful. The bad news is that once your ship lands on the planet, everything goes sideways. An unexpected ion storm sweeps through the solar system, shorting out communications between the fleet and the team. It wreaks havoc with the electronics planet-side too, temporarily shorting out the smaller craft's navigational array. Until it passes, about six standard days, you're stuck down there. And the bountiful harvest isn't without its dangers. Even the most docile looking animal will attack. Sampling the fruits and vegetables will cause temporary paralysis, hallucinations, and psychosis. Inhaling pollen will bring out a person's baser instincts. The planet itself is predatory, you see. Everything on it has evolved to entice visitors from nearby systems and kill them. And the fleet's unwittingly taken the bait. ➣ SCENARIO 003. ![]() It's been a rough day. Everything's going wrong. Machines are breaking down everywhere. The owner of your favorite business wasn't there today and the store was closed when you stopped by to pick something up. A coworker didn't show up for work, leaving you with an interested workload. And now it feels like you're being watched. It started about ten minutes ago, but whenever you turn to look, there's no one there. The feeling doesn't go away, though. No matter where you are, it feels like eyes are watching. Did you hear something? A quiet, scuffling scratching sound just for a second? Maybe you did. Maybe you didn't. But it came from the misshapen monstrosity that just punched a hole through the bulkhead right beside you. The creature makes a low, wet gargling noises and darts toward you: six to seven feet tall, vaguely humanoid, and covered in strange growths over which is stretched bubbling grayish-brown skin. Maybe you notice tatters of familiar clothing hanging off of it. Or there's enough left of its eyes to recognize the shape and color. Or maybe something about the noises it's making sound familiar. It's your missing coworker and it looks like the unfortunate soul ran afoul of that weird slimy creature the science team brought back from that jungle planet a month ago. The good news: you can kill it. The bad news: it can kill you. It's fast, it's hungry, and it reproduces at an alarming rate. A single bite can transfer the parasites in its bloodstream to you. Then you'll be just like your buddy. And that shop owner you like so much. And all of the people on Level 12. And... ➣ SCENARIO 004. ![]() You're welcomed and encouraged to make up your own scenarios. As you can see, there will be a wide variety of the types of things your character will encounter in this game. So feel free to make your starters as horrific, sexy, lighthearted, action-packed, or slice of life as you'd like. Make up a planet, make up a location on the Eluvio, make up a ship in the fleet, fight off a zombie alien invasion, there's no limit to what you can do on the TDM. |
Hajime Hinata | Dangan Ronpa 2
[If he hadn't been so freaked out when they'd discovered literally everything on the planet wants the team for lunch. He'd be angry. Once again, he'd let the seemingly innocent and pleasant outside mask something awful. Hinata sat for a moment. Just a second is all he needs.
Four more days. Four days and they can escape. He sighs, pulls himself out of the chair and walks back towards the others. Their equipment is mostly shot. Communications are down. He frowns as he emerges from the storage room.]
Hey, I got the medicine. Who needed treated this time? ....I also have the report from the working scanner about that fruit someone ingested.
004 - Play that special punishment music.
[It might seem like a normal morning. The air is being cycled, the announcements you usually hear on board do their usual business of keeping you informed. Hinata running as fast as he can. Usual things. He slams a halt in the middle of the hallway. His gut tells him not to look over his shoulder. Yet he does it anyway.
He recognizes, yet again, the disturbing detail of his co-worker's glasses jammed over what serves as a face. The gurgling noises that have plagued him continue to pepper the air like some sick little song. He had saved his own life when he dove into a narrow hallway the moment he saw what had been watching him when he punched in at work. But he's pretty sure he can't run forever and Mark, the spindly little man with a mean streak when it came to due dates on payments, is damn fast.
It would be hilarious and he might laugh later, in hysteria if he lives through the encounter. If he doesn't then he won't have to worry now will he? It shouldn't be funny. It isn't. As he resumes running, narrowly dodging the lunge of Was Mark, something of a stressed laugh escapes. Sometimes, laughing helps.]
Wildcard - aka 004: The network
(Network Id: Hinata)
I'm not sure how to say this. Or how to ask.
Can anyone tell me if any of the specimens got out? Or if there's any sort of situation I missed this morning.
If I don't answer right away, don't think I'm ignoring you. There's something down here that used to be one of my co-workers. If you knew Mark he isn't Mark anymore.
network; id: nanamin
[ She needs to be absolutely certain. This is definitely a concern and while it doesn't show very well in the way that she types, it's there. ]
no subject
I'm really sure, Nanami.
If he is, he's definitely not in control. Rude as he is. He doesn't try to kill people.
no subject
[ There has to be something they can do. But first... ] Where are you right now, Hinata-kun? Are you somewhere safe?
no subject
He can't reach me.
no subject
But if you say that he can't reach you... I'll trust in you, Hinata-kun. We should probably meet up, though. They say that you shouldn't go alone, after all.
no subject
I think you're right. Let me see if he's following just me first. I don't want to lead him to you.
[Hinata glances behind him and checks his map. If he makes it for the elevator he can get on an upper floor. If he's being targeted...might not be the best idea. He'll think of something else then.
With a shake of his head he starts moving south.]
no subject
Be careful, Hinata-kun. I'll make sure to be careful as well. If anything goes wrong, you have to make sure to contact somebody. Even if it isn't me.
[ It would be bad if something happened to him and nobody realized it, after all. ]
no subject
[It's a few minutes before he texts her again. The sounds of what had been Mark has receded the further away he's slipped into another ventilation shaft. It had broken through the bulkhead before. Maybe if he stays quiet...
Luck is on his side so far...]
I'm okay still. It doesn't seem to be following me. Do you know if security are on their way to deal with him, yet?

004
Which is why she never sees the person racing down the hall until she's crashing right into their arm-]
Hinata-kun...?
[Eyes wide, she blinks up at him from where she grabbed onto the wall to keep herself upright. Confused and unaware of the danger that's on his heels.]
Is... everything okay?
no subject
[Hinata tugs at her to come with him, and the answer isn't that far behind. Gurgling noises are accompanied by the horrific sight of what Was Mark. The stretched skin was bad enough but the odd growths are worse.]
We can't let him catch us.
no subject
[The strange sound so close to them makes her turn around to see - and the scream chokes in her throat, some strangled noise coming out of her in its place. From one second to the next, it feels like she's been placed inside of some horror game and is being forced to survive. Except instead of being given too little ammo to fight off the monster, she's been given none at all. And, between that and this being real life, it makes things a hundred times more terrifying.]
What- What is that, how did it get into the ship?!
no subject
Keep an eye out for double doors! [He calls out to Nanami. The double doors are a little ways ahead. As they get closer the thin blue lines around the edges mark it clearly.]
no subject
But her eyes are good, if she has nothing else going for her right now, even with tears burning at the corners, and Nanami spots what he's talking about easily. A stab of relief shoots through her.] I see it, we're almost there...! [Forming coherent words is hard right now, but she forces them out anyway.] Hinata-kun, is there- Can we lock the doors from the other side?!
no subject
[If he remembers right there is a panel to read dog tags on the left side of doors. Maybe next time he's running for his life he'll keep his on his wrist for easier access. Hinata tugs his dog tags out with a quick jerk of two fingers. It's lucky the cord around his neck didn't snap.]
I'm going to stop the moment we reach the panel. I'll let it read my dog tags and sling you inside.
[This could go okay. Or terrible. His biggest priority is making sure they make it out of this alive.]
no subject
[Briefly, Nanami also considers the fact that she's so much smaller than him that she'll probably instantly go flying the moment he tosses her like a potato sack, but that's the least of their problems right now.]
I won't go if you can't make it too. I'm not going without you!
[Nanami doesn't do anything as foolish as stop running, but she tightens her hand on his wrist, digging her heels in mentally even if she can't do it physically.
She won't lose Hinata again. Not after she's gotten him back.]
no subject
Just trust me, okay? [Whatever happens. He won't let her die. If he can help it he won't die either. Hinata screeches to a halt but the slick floor makes him slide faster than he'd thought he would. He barely has any time to thrust his dog tags at the reader.
None or never, he uses the momentum to sling her through the doors as they slide open.]
2
...Maybe it's nothing. He focuses on the first question and jerks a thumb towards the other room.]
It's one of the new guys... The one who doesn't have much spirit! He's been laid down in the other room. You can't miss him! [It's good to see Hinata on top of things. ...He missed the guy.]
no subject
I don't think spirit has much to do with any of this.
[He sets the print outs on the table for him to read as he walks into the other room.]
...how long have you been here, Nidai?
no subject
But spirit has a lot to do with everything!! [He shouts that with as much gusto as ever and shakes his head lightly as he leans over to look at the print outs.] It seems you still have a lot to learn, Hinata...
[Don't worry. Nidai will have your athletic career on track eventually. But with that out of the way, he addresses Hinata's question.]
I just got here a few minutes ago with some firewood... unless you mean who long I've been stuck up in outer space! It's been... [His eye widen as the duration of time hits him.] TWO MONTHS?!
no subject
....that's a lot of time. I can't even imagine what that must have been like.
What I meant just now is the plants on this planet have some kind of chemical in their leaves, fruit, and even the pollen we're breathing in. It feels like this place is trying to attack us.
no subject
...But that does sound serious! It almost sounds like this entire planet's trying to mess with us! But... but it's not all the fruit, right?!
no subject
Yes, all of it.
[As far as he knows. Ventus had been once such victim and there has been others. He picks up the tool he's used to inject the last victim with and offers it to his classmate.] If you did, this should counter most of the effects.
Have you been paralyzed at all? Seeing things?
no subject
I've been moving around just fine. If there's anything out of the ordinary, it would be... hmmm...
[Nidai squints and leans closer to Hajime to get a better look at his face.]
...Hinata, has your head always been a football?!
no subject
What?
No! You know what my face and head looks like!
