Carolina's working, which means she's in the ship-issued black jumpsuit (with purple accents, of all things; not her style) and even more ready to be exasperated by everyone around her than usual. That's basically half the job of the Fun Police, after all. It's the part she excels at the most. Which means she has her mouth open to say something curt when she actually registers the face in front of her and just... stops.
It makes sense, of course, that if Maine is here and alive that one of the others might show up some day, too, but it's still a surprise. She hasn't seen North's face in so long and he hasn't aged at all, probably a pretty sharp contrast to the years of scowling that have aged her face since she last saw him.
