He also believes it about as far as he can throw it, or at the very least, believes that it is much more complex than they're being led on to believe. ]

I don't think it's a kidnapping for information kind of situation. Considering a lot of people here are from pre-spaceflight parts of the galaxy, a singular planet, but different versions of that same planet and timelines within those versions, I'm guessing an anomaly isn't that out of reach.
